Kids are fucking assholes

Kids. They are so cute. They are our future. They are our legacy. They are also fucking assholes.

I find that the times where I was most victimized by racism is when I was a kid. Kids are fucking racists. When you mature, you start to emphasize with others. You learn not to hurt others needlessly. But as a kid, you are a selfish bastard.

Now, kids aren't racist because they hate your race. They are racist because they want to hurt you. And race just happens to be a great springboard for their verbal attacks. The trick to inflicting the most harm to someone with your insults is to go personal. The more personal your insults are, the more they will hurt. Kids understand this. They might not understand proper grammar, but they sure know how to destroy the human spirit.

You know when you see a kid sharing his or her toy with another kid? Or sharing a lollipop? Cute right? Of course, a parent's first reaction would probably be: "Aw look they're learning to share! That's so cute". Does that mean that kids are inherently good? Thank again. Read between the lines here.
What these parents are actually implying is this: "OMG!! For once you aren't acting like a goddamn selfish prick! Woohooo!!"

In conclusion, kids are fucking assholes. Makes you respect the role of the woman so much more.

Whatsup noobs?

So Cong has gone to China for some soul searching and bodyslavin'. Which is a shaaame, since we are not gonna get any more Guys With Scars videos for some time. Its a shame for his channel too, for he has stopped posting videos at such an early phase of its development.

Believe it or not. Youtube channels are big business. With actor wannabes making up to 300k US$ a year from ad revenue through the youtube partners program. Look at Montreal's own EpicMealTime. Making massive heart-attack inducing meat loafs is their full-time job. I mean this is not just a business that can sustain only one person. EpicMealTime is a whole crew and they all can live off the fat of the youtube.

I'm bored right now and I feel that it would be fun to analyze what makes some youtube channels fail and others succeed.

Now I'm pretty much doing this on the fly, so don't expect some super deep insights right away. I'm hoping to continue this topic later on with much deeper thought put into it.

So I have compiled the 68 most subscribed (most of them are also the most viewed) channels on youtube. Top dog is RayWilliamJohnson who's videos are part Vlog, part viral videos...kind of like America's Funniest Home Videos but for youtube. Second is Nigahiga, our favorite Asian with ADHD.

Here are some stats:

Out of the top-68 channels,

31 are what would be considered Comedy (45%).
20 are music related (29%).
9 are gaming related (13%).
20 are Vlog format (29%).
There are 2 How to channels (3%)
1 channel is just a Russian shooting alot of guns (1.5%).

Of course, many of these categories overlap. What is most obvious is the dominance of the Vlog.
Vlogs account for nearly 1/3 of the top 68 channels on youtube. Furthermore, it isnt just any kind of Vlog that dominates. Its the Comedic Vlog; Vlogs that are often accompanied by funny skits or simply a guy telling funny jokes to the camera.

One reason that I surmise is the reason behind the success of Vlogs is the predictability. You open the video and you know who is going to be infront of the camera. After a while, you get to the know the person better through his or her videos. Even if these people are only playing a certain character, this character soon becomes more relatable than your average one-off skit character that only appears in one video. Vlogs are better able to make the audience care about the character.

There are other advantages to the Vlog format. I find it also alot easier to tell a story through the Vlog format than through scripted acting alone. You can be very obvious with what you say, but when acting out a skit, u need to stay subtle or risk breaking the magical fourth wall.

It is also easier to stay more relevant when Vlogging. You don't need to justify yourself talking about a relevant topic because that is what you do. If some politician gets caught in a sex scandal, you can turn on your camera and talk about it right away. It is much harder to come up with a relevant skit.

Anyways, that is all for now. I think Im going to go start a Vlog and get rich.
